This scene is very near the same spot as the house in my Another New England Sunrise painting was located.
This boat sat at the end of a dirt lot in a small marina on an inlet of Scituate Harbor. I took the reference photo for this on a warm, bright Spring day that almost felt like summer. I was attracted to this scene because of the tall white mast slicing against the deep blue sky.
